Spirit Halloween – Saratoga
Well, Spirit Halloween stores are starting to open up in our area. We took a drive out to Saratoga today to visit the first store open nearby. They’ve got a nice big store to fill up there, and it looks as though they’re working hard to do just that. Unfortunately a lot of the merchandise is still being unpacked in the back rooms, but the spirt is alive in the store nonetheless. The noise, the sights, and even that familiar smell of latex rubber masks; what a great way to boost that Halloween spirit.
With the store still donning a fair amount of empty wall and floor space, we were approached by a nice young lady associate who asked if we were looking for anything in particular, and offered to hunt down anything we needed that wasn’t on the floor. Nothing beats good customer service! We were however, able to find the one thing that we needed from this visit; a few rolls of Stonewall Graveyard Room Setter for the witch house. We took a few laps through the store, then headed to the register with the goods. I grabbed a little baggie of plastic spiders for good measure, and checked out. In hindsight, I’m a little disappointed that I didn’t check for the new Nox Arcana CDs, but there’s still time for that. I left behind a few business cards, and we hit the road with our goodies for the long drive home.
Even though the store was incomplete, I’m glad I took the 45 min drive north to Saratoga to visit the store. It was a great reminder of just how close Halloween is. Thanks Spirit Halloween, and thanks to the employees of the Saratoga, Wilton Mall store. See you again soon.

I like to give credit where credit is due, especially when it comes to internet business. Too often, good business goes un-noticed while bad business is ranted over to no end. While this is beneficial to the buyers in watching out for the bad ones, it does little or nothing to refer them to the good, and it certainly does nothing to benefit those business who go the extra mile for their customers. I’ve recently dealt with a company that deserves this praise, so here’s the skinny.

This was the second order I had placed with them, the first being a smaller “trial run” order. Both times, the service was top notch, ordering was quick and easy and their prices are better than most others I have found on the web. My most recent order received in only 2 business days (total of 5 days over a holiday weekend) and what’s better; the shipping was free. MyAtomic charges no shipping on orders totalling more than $25.00. Quick and easy transactions, low prices, quick turnaround and fast, free shipping (with tracking); what more can you ask for.
The real surprise came this morning when I received an email from MyAtomic. A friendly letter from a member of their staff checking to ensure that my order was received, and that everything was as expected. The letter also outlined various means by which to contact the right people at their business should there be any issues. I was most certainly pleased with this level of customer service, as I was made to feel as though my business really does matter to them (a refreshing change after the corn-holing I received from my web host last month).

UPDATE: (01/04/11) Myatomic has gone out of business, and apparently left several customers without their paid orders being filled. Time to find a new source for my Lindberg Skulls.

Here is a great resource for Witchcraft, Wiccan, Gothic and Occult supplies. My wife has bought from this online retailer on multiple occasions and has always been happy with the purchases. They provide quality products at reasonable prices, and their shipping has always been prompt. They have pages upon pages of positive customer reviews. Those who were less than satisfied with their transactions report great efforts by the owners to make things right. It’s not often you see this level of customer service now days. I am receiving no gain by posting this, I only hope to spread the good word for a deserving business. It’s my little way of giving “kudos” for a job well done.
