The Walking Dead
Here is a little source of inspiration for all of you corpse makers out there. This is “Bicycle Girl” from AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ series.
This is Halloween
Halloween season just doesnt seem right without this one. Tim Burton’s ‘The Nighmare Before Christmas’ re-cut with Marilyn Manson’s version of ‘This Is Halloween’ for the re-release of the film in Disney Digital 3-D and 2-Disc Special Edition Soundtrack.

TV Corpses – Chester Copperpot
Another TV/Movie corpse to inspire all you halloween home haunters and prop makers. Chester Copperpot’s corpse is discovered by a group of kids, several decades after his death. Copperpot, an apparent victim to one of One-Eyed Willy’s boobie traps, met his demise while in search of the pirate’s hidden treasures. This is one of my favorite scenes from the 80′s movie “The Goonies”.
With only a minimal amount of flesh remaining, this look should be very easy to accomplish. A Bucky, a can of Minwax Gel Stain, a little bit of Liquid Latex and Cotton balls, and some shreads of well soiled cloth.

TV Corpses – Wolfman
I’ve always been impressed with some of the corpses shown on television shows like CSI, NCIS, and Bones, as well as some of those used in the movies. They frequently serve as a source of inspiration for many of my Halloween projects. Unfortunately, a brief glimpse is often all we get of these beautifully crafted versions of mangled, rotting, charred or mummified remains. I took an instant liking to this one from the 2010 film “The Wolfman”.

Lawrence Talbot looks upon the mauled remains of his brother, Ben, who's body was found a day earlier. The Wolfman (2010)
Though I fear I may be unintentionally headed in a different direction, This is very close to how I had envisioned the face of my “Gravedigger” prop. I guess we’ll just have to see how that one turns out.
I really like the way the hair was done on this one too. The matted down, greasy look really suits the look of a recent death. It’s a same that, after all of the work that must have been put into this prop, it only saw a split second of screen time.
With that said, May this photo serve as a source of inspiration to all of my Halloween loving, prop building readers.
Donald Duck – Trick or Treat – 1952
I’ve always enjoyed those classic Halloween cartoons, so here is a little something to keep the spirit alive in the off-season. This is a classic Donald Duck cartoon from 1952 titled ‘Trick or Treat’, posted by YT user MitsukoCat. This is one I’ve not seen before, but I was rather pleased that, for a change, the Witch was not portrayed as being evil.
Enjoy!
Striking Resemblance
A few months back, probably late September or early October, I decided I wanted to make a new groundbreaker that was inspired by those gaping mouthed guardsmen mummies that gave Brendan Frasier such a troublesome time in the Mummy movie series. It was with that premise that Angry Arthur was created.
Fast forward 3 months to my first glimpse of the trailer for the movie “Legion”, and imagine my surprise when I spotted what would almost appear to be Angry Art himself, before his flesh began to rot away. If Legion’s Ice Cream Man character and Angry Arthur aren’t one in the same, then surely they must be related. Brothers perhaps?
Although it had come out in mid August, I had not seen the trailer for this film until the end of December as a preview on the District 9 DVD. I find it humorous that two images so similar would come out at almost the same time, with no inspiration from one another. If, as they say, great minds think alike, then someone else is doing a lot better with their great mind than I am with mine.
Ghost Hunters Academy
It’s time to hit the classroom. ‘Ghost Hunters Academy’ premiers tonight at 10pm EST on the SyFy channel. Anyone who’s a fan of the original Ghost Hunters television show knows that with this dynamic duo, this spinoff has the potential for great things.
In this new series we’ll get to follow Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango as they bring their knowledge and experience to the classroom, training bright young minds in the art of hunting for paranormal activity. No doubt the comedic antics of these two gents will play a part in the show, but chances are it’ll take a back seat to watching their trainees crack when things start to go bump in the night. Lets just hope there are no spiders lurking about, or it may just be the trainees who get the last laugh.
Personally, I would love the chance to spend a few nights investigating the spookiest of the spooky with these guys, but unfortunately I’ve got more important things to do. So I’ll just have to settle with watching it on the TV like the rest of us. Two straight hours of fresh GH material, thank goodness I have Wednesday nights off.
Until next, SK
